Hello, Ed. When I saw your reference to the Spiritual Exercises, I wondered if you have read the terrific book I am reading right now -- HEROIC LEADERSHIP: BEST PRACTICES FROM A 450-YEAR-OLD COMPANY THAT CHANGED THE WORLD by Chris Lowney. I also think you might like QUIET LEADERSHIP by David Rock.

Say "hi" to San Francisco, my old haunts.

    Hi Stephanie,
I haven't read "Heroic Leadership," but it looks interesting. Although my wife isn't Catholic, she's worked for Catholic Healthcare West (a Bay Area HMO) and Santa Clara University (established by the Jesuits), and she found their management practices to be generally quite effective and humane, so I'm at least a little familiar with the concept. Thanks for the tip--

Hello again, Ed. Yes, I know Santa Clara University well. That is where I attended and graduated law school.
