Thanks for speaking at our event Ed! I gave you some blog love back:

Thanks, Eugene--it was my pleasure. I really like your "doorbell" metaphor--well said!

    Ed,
I just love the way you describe what's been going on in our group at the CLDR. And I couldn't agree with you more that the "soft" tech approach you've taken with our team has helped us all focus on what I think of as the most important aspect of collaborative technologies: that we use them to work better together.

    Digital hugs,
    Sharon

Thanks, Sharon--I appreciate the perspective. I do think some of the "hard" foundation was helpful initially, but we've made much more progress focusing on the "soft" side over the past few months. See you soon!

I like the notion of technology being soft. It is both counterintuitive and provocative. I suspect it gets people’s attention.

Your story about introducing wiki as something “new” and then just allowing it to enter the system more organically – in a human way – is a fine reminder of how technology could be introduced.

In my own work, I pay attention to resistance to change in organizations, and I am always interested in seeing examples of change that generate support rather than opposition.

    Thanks.

Thanks, Rick. I think I had to run into some resistance first in order to understand what alternative approaches would generate support--it was some great learning.
